Our fragrant Pesto Hummus recipe combines the flavors of chickpeas with fresh basil, Parmesan and garlic. As a bonus, it's quick to make and can be prepared ahead of time - a perfect choice for easy entertaining!
What You Need
Original recipe yields 16 servings
2 cups loosely packed fresh basil leaves
1 can (15.5 oz.) chickpeas (garbanzo beans), rinsed
1/3 cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese
1/4 cup KRAFT Olive Oil Vinaigrettes - Parmesan Pesto
2 cloves garlic
1/4 cup pine nuts, toasted, divided

Process all ingredients except 2 Tbsp. pine nuts in food processor until smooth.
Spoon into serving bowl.
Top with remaining nuts.
This easy-to-make dip can be prepared ahead of time. Refrigerate up to 24 hours. Top with remaining pine nuts just before serving.
Toasting nuts adds crunch and intensifies their flavor. To toast nuts in the oven, spread nuts in single layer in shallow baking pan. Bake at 350°F for 8 to 10 min. or until golden brown, stirring occasionally. To toast nuts on the stovetop, place nuts in ungreased skillet. Cook on medium heat until golden brown, stirring frequently. To toast nuts in the microwave, place up to 1 cup of nuts in a microwaveable shallow dish. Microwave on HIGH until fragrant and crisp, stirring every 30 sec.
