Original recipe yields 16 servings
1/2 lb. Italian sausage
1 each green and red pepper, chopped
1 pkg. (6 oz.) STOVE TOP Stuffing Mix
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup KRAFT Real Mayo Mayonnaise
1/4 cup GREY POUPON Dijon Mustard

Crumble sausage into medium skillet; cook on medium heat until evenly browned, stirring occasionally. Add peppers; cook 8 min. or until crisp-tender, stirring occasionally. Cool. Meanwhile, prepare stuffing as directed on package.

Place bread crumbs in shallow dish. Combine sausage mixture, stuffing and egg; mix well. Shape into 16 patties, using about 1/4 cup sausage mixture for each. Add sausage patties, 1 at a time, to bread crumbs; turn to evenly coat both sides of each patty with crumbs.

Cook patties, in batches, in large skillet sprayed with cooking spray on medium heat 4 to 5 min. on each side or until patties are golden brown and heated through, respraying skillet with cooking spray between batches if needed. Meanwhile, mix mayo and mustard until blended.

Serve sausage patties with mayo mixture.

Make Ahead
Shape cooled sausage mixture into patties as directed. Refrigerate up to 24 hours. When ready to serve, coat with bread crumbs, then continue as directed.

Storing Fresh Sausage Safely
Refrigerate fresh sausage and use it by the "Use-By" date on the package. If there is no date, use the sausage within 2 days. If you are unable to use the sausage within the recommended date, freeze it for up to 2 months for best quality.
