What You Need
Original recipe yields 21 servings
60 vanilla wafers, coarsely crushed
1 cup finely chopped PLANTERS Walnuts
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup rum
3 Tbsp. light corn syrup
2 oz. BAKER'S Bittersweet Chocolate, melted

Let's Make It
Mix wafer crumbs, nuts and sugar in medium bowl until blended. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Let stand 5 min.
Divide crumb mixture into 3 equal portions; roll each portion into 7x1-1/4-inch log. Cut each log into 14 slices.
Holiday Rum Balls
Prepare as directed, except roll wafer crumb mixture into 42 balls instead of rolling into logs and slicing.
Substitute 1/4 cup milk and 1/2 tsp. rum extract, or vanilla extract, for the rum.
These delicious treats can be prepared ahead of time. Refrigerate in airtight container up to 2 days before serving.
How to Prevent Wafer Mixture from Sticking to Hands
When shaping wafer mixture into logs, grease hands lightly with butter before using to roll each portion into log.
