What You Need
Original recipe yields 16 servings
1-1/2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 tsp. maple extract
3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Heat oven to 350ºF.
Line 9-inch square pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides. Spray with cooking spray.
Combine flour and baking powder. Mix sugar and butter in large bowl until blended. Stir in eggs, then extract. Add flour mixture; mix well. Stir in nuts. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake 20 to 25 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out with fudgy crumbs. (Do not overbake.)
Use foil handles to remove dessert from pan before cutting into squares.
How to Chop Nuts
Using a chef's knife and holding the tip end down on the cutting board, cut back and forth across the nuts until they are chopped to the desired size.
