Here's a sweet new take on the classic grilled cheese sandwich, made with strawberry jam and whole wheat sliced bread pressed in a waffle iron.
What You Need
Original recipe yields 1 serving
2 slices whole wheat bread
1 Tbsp. strawberry jam
1 KRAFT DELI DELUXE Process American Cheese Slice
1 Tbsp. butter or margarine, softened

Let's Make It
Heat waffle iron.
Spread 1 bread slice with jam; cover with cheese and remaining bread slice.
Spread outside of sandwich with butter.
Cook in waffle iron 3 min. or until cheese is melted and sandwich is golden brown.
Serve with assorted cut-up fresh vegetables and a piece of fruit to round out the meal.
Prepare using your favorite flavor of jam or jelly.
Use a Skillet
If you don't have a waffle iron, grill sandwich in nonstick skillet on medium heat 3 min. on each side or until sandwich is golden brown on both sdes and cheese is melted.
