What You Need
Original recipe yields 6 servings
3 cups rotini pasta, uncooked
3/4 lb. Italian sausage, casings removed
1 red onion, sliced
1 each red and yellow pepper, cut into strips
1/4 cup KRAFT Sun Dried Tomato Vinaigrette Dressing made with Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 cup KRAFT Shredded Italian* Five Cheese with a TOUCH OF PHILADELPHIA

Let's Make It
Cook pasta as directed on package, omitting salt.
Meanwhile, crumble sausage into large skillet sprayed with cooking spray. Add onions; cook on medium heat 8 min., stirring frequently. Stir in peppers; cook 4 to 6 min. or until sausage is evenly browned, stirring frequently. Add dressing; mix well. Simmer on medium-low heat 8 to 10 min. or until peppers are crisp-tender.
Drain pasta, reserving 1/2 cup cooking water. Add pasta and reserved water to sausage mixture. Stir in 1/2 cup cheese; sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Substitute 2 cups roasted red pepper strips for the fresh peppers.
Italian Sausage & Tomato Rotini
Omit red pepper and 1/2 cup cooking water. Increase sausage to 1 lb. Add 1 undrained 14-1/2-oz. can diced tomatoes with the peppers. Continue as directed.
Prepare using whole wheat rotini pasta, KRAFT Lite Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing and KRAFT 2% Milk Shredded Italian* Three Cheese Blend.
Prepare using KRAFT Finely Shredded Italian* Five Cheese Blend.
