Warm your taste buds with this hot coffee drink. Café de Olla is a Mexican-inspired beverage infused with cinnamon. We add orange zest to our Café de Olla.
What You Need
Original recipe yields 8 servings
1/2 cup MAXWELL HOUSE Coffee
1 Tbsp. freshly ground Mexican cinnamon (canela)
3-1/2 oz. piloncillo (Mexican brown loaf sugar), finely chopped (about 1/2 cup)
1-1/2 qt. (6 cups) water
8 thin strips orange zest

Let's Make It
Place coffee and cinnamon in brew basket of coffee maker. Place piloncillo in empty pot of coffee maker.
Add water to coffee maker; brew. When brewing is complete, stir until well mixed.
Place strip of orange peel in each filled mug of hot coffee.
How to Prepare by the Cup
Fill 1 mug with plain brewed plain MAXWELL HOUSE Coffee. Add 1 tsp. grated piloncillo or brown sugar and orange peel; stir with cinnamon stick.
Substitute 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar for the piloncillo.
Adjust the amount of coffee grounds as desired for stronger, or weaker, brewed coffee.
