Here's an easy version of the classic chocolate celebration cake—made with devil's food cake mix, toasted coconut flakes and sweet walnuts in syrup.
What You Need
Original recipe yields 16 servings
1 pkg. (2-layer size) devil's food cake mix
2 cups JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows
2 cups BAKER'S ANGEL FLAKE Coconut, toasted
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
2 jars (5 oz. each) walnuts in syrup
Let's Make It
Line 13x9-inch pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides; spray with cooking spray.
Prepare cake batter and bake in prepared pan as directed on package for 13x9-inch cake; cool completely. Use foil handles to transfer cake from pan to platter; discard foil.
Combine remaining ingredients; spread over top of cake.
Enjoy a serving of this elegant dessert but remember to keep tabs on portions.
How to Test Cake for Doneness
To prevent overbaking, check cakes or cupcakes at the minimum baking time indicated in recipe. Insert a toothpick in center of cake. If it comes out clean, the cake is done. If it does not come out clean, return to the oven for a few additional minutes before rechecking.
How to Store
Keep frosted cake refrigerated.
