In a large bowl or plastic container place flour, yeast, salt, sugar; mix together. Make hole in center; pour the water and oil in and fold together to make the dough. Mix until it is all incorporated. No extensive kneading is required. It will be a shaggy dough. In the same bowl, cover with a damp cloth. Place in a warm place and let double.
When doubled, at this point you punch it down. Now you can make your bread/rolls whatever. Form your loaves and place on parchment covered baking sheet, cover and let rise until doubled.
Bake at 400°F*see below. Full French style bread bake for about 40 minutes -- depends on your oven. Rolls less of course about 15 or so. Will sound hallow when tapped on the bottom. When you think they are half done, brush loaves with egg or egg white and continue baking.
Cool loaves on wire racks. You can also sprinkle poppy seeds or sesame seeds on top.
