Original recipe yields 1 serving
1 box long grain & wild rice
4 Tbsp butter
1 cup onion chopped
2 cups cooked and shredded chicken
48 ounce chicken broth
1 can (4 ounce) mushroom pieces
6 Tbsp almonds, sliced
1 cup carrots chopped
1/4 cup flour
1 pint Half & Half

Cook rice according to package directions.

Melt butter in a large pot, add onions and saute. Add rice and all other ingredients except flour and half and half. Simmer for 20 minutes.

Just before serving, whisk flour with Half & Half. Add to the soup, heat through until thickened.
