Salt & pepper & boil cabbage until soft, about 30-45 minutes. Chop cabbage into small chunks.
Meanwhile, cook egg noodles according to package directions. In another pan, fry bacon & onion until crisp and drain on paper towel.
Drain off some of the bacon fat and melt butter in the pan over medium heat. Add all ingredients to pan and stir (season throughout with salt & pepper to taste) Saute until heated through, lightly browned.
