1. Sift flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, salt, and cocoa together 3 times. Set aside. Cream together sugar, shortening, applesauce and eggs (1 at a time, mixing in-between). Add drained raisins. Add dry ingredients a little at a time until gone.
2. Grease cupcake tins or use paper cups. Fill muffin tins 2/3 of the way .
