Put yeast into cup of warm water, let sit for a few minutes. Add the flour and cake mix to the yeast. Stir till you can’t stir any longer. Take out of the bowl and add just enough flour so it isn't sticky. Place back in bowl and place on top of stove or a warm place. Cover with a clean towel. Let rise, about 4 hours depending on the temperature of the house or the weather outside.
Take off the stove and cut batch in half. Roll out on floured table. Roll out the dough and spread butter first on top of dough. Next add your sugar; I just sprinkle it with my hands. Now you can add raisins if you wish. Put cinnamon on top. Next, start to roll up the dough. What I do I roll it like a jelly roll. If it gets too big in the middle I pull it a little in the middle. Pinch the flap close. Cut about 3 inches apiece. Line them in a cake pan greased. Let them rise also. Place towel over them.
Bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. After you take them out of the oven and they are still warm I drizzle a butter frosting on top of them. You can either eat them warm or cold.
