Original recipe yields 1 serving
1 lb ground beef
1 or 2 (1.25 oz.) taco seasoning packets
1/2 cup vegetable oil
10 flour tortillas
10 American cheese slices, cut in half
Toppings optional (shredded lettuce, taco cheese, chopped tomatoes, sour cream, jalapenos, etc.)

Brown ground beef in large skillet, drain. Add taco seasoning packet and prepare as directed. (My family likes it a bit spicier so we use 2 packets of seasoning.) Remove from heat. Cover skillet to keep mixture warm.

In separate skillet heat 2 Tbsp. of oil on med-hi heat till you can see steam rise. Then add one flour tortilla, fry about 60 seconds or till golden brown.

Flip tortilla and immediately add 2 half slices of cheese on each side, and spoon meat mixture in the middle. Fold taco in half slowly. Continue with remaining tortillas. Use toppings as desired.
