"Dirt" Trifle

Original recipe yields 1 serving
1 box Duncan Hines or Betty Crocker chocolate cake
1 box (8 servings) or 2 boxes (4 serving) Jell-O Chocolate Flavor Sugar Free Instant Pudding
4 cups milk
2 tubs (8 oz. each) Cool Whip or Chocolate Cool Whip, or French Vanilla Cool Whip
1 pkg Oreo Cookies
Gummy worms (optional)

Let's Make It
1. Prepare cake as directed on the box but bake in a grease 9 x 13 pan and completely cool in pan. When cooled, cut into bite sized pieces.
2. Make the pudding as directed on the box. Let stand 10 min to firm up a little.
3. After 10 minutes dump both containers of Cool Whip into the pudding and whisk in 'til no Cool Whip is showing through the pudding.
4. Crush the Oreo Cookies very fine in a food processer or in a zip top bag by hand using a rolling pin.
5. Now you’re ready to put it all together: Put some of the cake bites in the bottom of the trifle dish. Next cover it with some of the pudding mixture. Then top it off with some the crushed Oreo Cookies. Repeat with cake, then pudding mixture, then the crushed Oreo Cookies. Repeat again and again 'til you end up the last layer of the pudding mixture and the top with the last layer of crushed Oreo Cookies. Serve it up now or refrigerate 'til ready to serve. Garnish with the gummy worms {optional} on top of the trifle.
