Original recipe yields 1 serving
1 1/2 cups canned or mashed pumpkin
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1-1 1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2-1 tsp ginger
1/4-1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4-1/2 tsp ground cloves
3 slightly beaten eggs
1 1/4 cups milk
6 oz evaporated milk
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell

Preheat oven to 400°F. Thoroughly combine pumpkin, sugar, salt and spices in a large bowl. Blend in eggs, milk and evaporated milk.

Pour into unbaked pie shell (have edges crimped high as filling is generous).

Bake for 50 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between center and outside comes out clean. Cool and refrigerate for several hours.
