Original recipe yields 1 serving
2 pie crusts (can be homemade or frozen-store-bought type)
1 cup sugar
2+ tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
6 cups thinly sliced, peeled cooking apples
1 tablespoon stick butter

Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a 9-inch pie plate with 1 pie crust. In a mixing bowl combine sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add sugar mixture to the apples; toss until the apples are coated.

Fill crust-lined plate with apple mixture. Slice the tablespoon of butter into 4 or 5 slices, place on top of apples. Cut small holes on top of 2nd crust to let steam escape, place on top of apples. Seal and flute edge.

Line edge of pie crust with foil to prevent burning. Bake for 25 minutes, remove foil and bake for another 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool pie before serving.
