Original recipe yields 1 serving
6 cups nuts
1 pound chopped dates (optional)
1 pound mixed fruit
1/2 pound red cherries
1/2 pound green cherries
1 pound pineapple
1/2 cup plain flour
2 cans sweetened condensed milk
Keep out 8 red cherries, 8 green cherries and 1/2 pecans to make cake pretty

Chop all nuts and fruit; mix together. Add flour -- be sure to mix fruit good with the flour before adding milk. Add milk and mix well.

Line tube pan with heavy brown paper. (I use wax paper spayed well.) Pour batter into pan.

Bake for 1 1/2 hours at 300 degrees F.
