Preheat oven to 325°F/165°C. Soften 1 cup butter or margarine by warming it in the microwave for about 5-10 seconds.
In a large bowl, with clean hands mush together butter and dry ingredients, blending and kneading by hand until soft dough forms (meaning don’t smush too much, but enough to get rid of most of the chunky bits).
Divide the dough in half. Lightly press each half into the bottom of two 9-inch pans. Prick the dough with a fork a few times.
Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into wedges or dreidel shapes and let cool.
