Original recipe yields 1 serving
1 1/2 - 2 lb sirloin steak
2 Tbsp butter
1 can beef consomme
1/3 cup burgundy wine
2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/4 Tbsp onion salt
8 oz fresh mushrooms
2 Tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup water
Rice or egg noodles

Cube sirloin & cook in large skillet in melted butter just until red is gone. Add consomme, wine, soy sauce, garlic & onion salt. Stir.

Cook at medium-low for 45-60 min covered. Check & stir occasionally to be sure juice is alright. Turn down heat if juice is cooking out. Add mushrooms last 15 min.

Combine cornstarch & water; pour into skillet to thicken meat mixture. Serve with prepared rice or egg noodles. We eat it with egg noodles.
