1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 can (17 oz.) fruit cocktail
1 cup flaked coconut
Topping/Icing
1 stick margarine
1 cup evaporated milk
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup flaked coconut

Beat sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Stir in combined dry ingredients, vanilla, fruit cocktail, and flaked coconut.

Bake in greased 13x9x2-inch pan at 350 degrees F for 30 to 40 minutes or until cake test done. Let cake cool in pan before adding topping.
