Original recipe yields 1 serving
2 cups sugar
2 cups shortening
2 eggs
1 cup sour milk
2 teaspoon s baking soda
4 teaspoon s baking powder
Pinch salt
2 teaspoon s vanilla
8 cups flour
Maraschino cherries (drained well)
Frosting Ingredients:
3 tablespoons cherry juice reserved
Powdered sugar

Let's Make It
Cream sugar and shortening. Beat in one at a time, eggs, sour milk, baking soda, baking powder, salt, vanilla and flour. Switch to mixing by hand when it gets to difficult to beat.
Take small amount of dough and 1 cherry. Roll dough around cherry and place on cookie sheet. If you do not want cherries, just roll a ball of dough and place on sheet. Bake in 350 degrees F oven for 10-12 minutes.
Frosting: Mix cherry juice with powered sugar till desired frosting consistency is made.
