Lightly brown chicken and onion in butter. Season and add water. Cover and simmer until tender (1/2 hour).
Mix dumplings and drop by teaspoons into boiling salted water. When they float they are done about 5 mintes. Drain and add to chicken mixture. Mix together and add a bit more paprika to make a nice orange color.
