Create your own model airplane out of a few household materials with this mac-and-cheese box airplane project! A solid straw serves as the body for this box plane and an empty KRAFT Macaroni and Cheese Dinner box is used for the wings and tail. Three, two, one, takeoff!
What you need
1 empty box (7-1/4 oz.) KRAFT Macaroni and Cheese Dinner
1 Sturdy straw or similar material for the glider body
Ruler
Scissors
Tape
Counter weight (some coins or a bit of clay)

Carefully cut open the KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese Dinner box along the seems so that it lays flat. You’ll need to separate the front panel from the sides. You will also use the back panel at a later step.
Measure ½ inch down the short end of the panel. Reserving a 1 inch wide triangle at the middle, remove the ½ inch with scissors.
To create the wings, cut from 1 inch along the side panel, to 2 ¾ inches down the middle of the panel.
Trace your first set of wings on to the reserved back panel and cut out the same shape. You should now have to identical wing shapes.
For stability, match up and tape your wing shapes together creating one piece. Fold the wing tips up at either end and secure with tape if needed.
Cut a small piece of the thinnest panel (the recipe section is the perfect size!) Fold the ends up similar to how you folded the wings.
Secure the wing piece and tail piece to your body (straw) with tape.
You will need to tape a few coins or a piece of clay to the nose of your glider plane as a counter balance. You know when you have enough when you can balance the glider plane on your finger tips and it does not tip backwards.
Take flight!
