Try this yummy strawberry puppy chow with lemon zest and powdered sugar. Lemon Strawberry Puppy Chow is easy to make and a great treat for kids.

Original recipe yields 20 servings
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tsp. lemon zest
9 cups oven-toasted rice cereal squares
1-1/2 cups freeze-dried strawberries
Let's Make It

Combine sugar, gelatin mix and lemon zest in 2-gal. resealable plastic bag.

Microwave chocolate in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1-1/2 min.; stir until completely melted. Add cereal; toss until evenly coated.

Add cereal mixture to sugar mixture in bag; close bag. Shake gently to evenly coat cereal mixture with sugar mixture.

Add strawberries; shake gently.

Note
If preparing ahead of time, toss with strawberries just before serving. Prepared puppy chow can be stored in tightly covered container at room temperature up to 3 days before serving.

How to Use the Remaining Gelatin Mix
Prepare and bake cupcakes as directed on 1 pkg. (2-layer size) white cake mix, blending remaining gelatin mix (from 3-oz. pkg.) into prepared batter before spooning into prepared muffin cups. Cool cupcakes. Frost with Lemon-Cream Cheese Frosting. Keep refrigerated.
