How to Make a frittata – Instructions
- Preheat your oven according to the recipe you’re using before you mix your frittata ingredients.
- Crack the eggs into a mixing bowl. Whisk the eggs thoroughly with the cream cheese or milk included in your recipe. Set this bowl aside.
- Cook the bacon and remove both bacon and grease from the non-stick skillet when finished. Crumble the bacon into the egg mixture in the bowl. (Skip this step if you prefer a meatless frittata).
- Add your shredded cheese and desired seasonings to the egg mixture.
- Cook and stir your veggies in the skillet for a few minutes over medium heat until slightly tender. You don’t want to overcook them.
- Add the egg mixture, cover and reduce the burner heat to low. Don't mix the eggs in the pan, so they can set.
- Cook for 6-8 minutes, or until the egg mixture is almost set in the center.
- Remove the skillet lid and bake in the oven for 5 minutes or until the center is set. Make sure you use a skillet that can be heated in the oven safely.
- Remove your skillet from the oven using oven mitts.
- Use a rubber spatula to loosen the sides of the frittata and slide it onto a plate. Then, slice into wedges or squares. And now you know how to make a frittata!
