What you need

  • Eggs
  • Milk or dairy products such as cream cheese

  • Bacon or other meat choice (optional)
  • Chopped or diced vegetables of choice
  • Large mixing bowl and whisk
  • Oven-proof non-stick skillet
  • Rubber spatula
  • Oven

How to Make a frittata – Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven according to the recipe you’re using before you mix your frittata ingredients.
  2. Crack the eggs into a mixing bowl. Whisk the eggs thoroughly with the cream cheese or milk included in your recipe. Set this bowl aside.
  3. Cook the bacon and remove both bacon and grease from the non-stick skillet when finished. Crumble the bacon into the egg mixture in the bowl. (Skip this step if you prefer a meatless frittata).
  4. Add your shredded cheese and desired seasonings to the egg mixture.
  5. Cook and stir your veggies in the skillet for a few minutes over medium heat until slightly tender. You don’t want to overcook them.
  6. Add the egg mixture, cover and reduce the burner heat to low. Don't mix the eggs in the pan, so they can set.
  7. Cook for 6-8 minutes, or until the egg mixture is almost set in the center.
  8. Remove the skillet lid and bake in the oven for 5 minutes or until the center is set. Make sure you use a skillet that can be heated in the oven safely.
  9. Remove your skillet from the oven using oven mitts.
  10. Use a rubber spatula to loosen the sides of the frittata and slide it onto a plate. Then, slice into wedges or squares. And now you know how to make a frittata!
