How to Make Salsa

Have you ever been to a restaurant where salsa was served and you simply can’t stop dipping into it? You might be wondering how they combine bits of fruit into the mix, or add just the right amount of spice for that kick that leaves your mouth tingling. Luckily, learning how to make salsa is simple and there are plenty of ways to dress it up or down. Serve with more than just tortilla chips, too! Pair with your favorite protein, bread and veggies for the perfect accompanying side.

If you’ve ever wondered how to make salsa yourself, you’ve come to the right place to learn! Making your own salsa at home is super simple and only requires a few fresh ingredients.

What You’ll Need

Instructions for Traditional Salsa:

  1. Chop: tomatoes, onions, cilantro, garlic and Jalapeño peppers into small or medium sized pieces.
  2. Mix: all of the contents with generous squeezes of lime juice.
  3. Season: with salt and pepper to taste

Restaurant Style: for a restaurant-style variation, simply put all of your ingredients into the food processor for a less chunky dip.

Additional tips: add fruit such as mangoes, pineapples and other favorites to add a sweet kick to your salsa. You can also add more of your favorite vegetables like jicama and diced peppers to your salsa to create your own recipe. There are no rules!
